FCoEは、下位互換性と投資保護のために、ファイバーチャネル構成や管理パラダイムを持続しながら、強化されたイーサネット・インフラ上でファイバーチャネル・フレームをカプセル化して転送します。
これらの技術を活用することによって、Brocade CNAは、複数の1 GbE NICやファイバーチャネル・ホスト・バス・アダプタ（HBA）を一つのアダプタに統合することが可能です。トップ・オブ・ラック型Brocade 8000スイッチ、Brocade DCXバックボーン・ファミリ用FCOE 10-24ブレード、およびBrocade Data Center Fabric Manager（DCFM）と組み合わせることで、Brocade CNAは、単一リンク上でTCP/IPとストレージ（iSCSI/FC）トラフィック両方を統合する、強力な10 Gbpsソリューションを提供します。これにより、サーバの導入や電力および冷却にかかるコストを大幅に削減し、TOCを抑えながらクラス最高のLANおよびSAN接続性を実現します。
