Brocade MLXシリーズのルータは、業界最高クラスの100ギガビット・イーサネット（GbE）、10 GbE、および1 GbEのワイヤ・スピード密度と、性能を損なうことのない豊富なIPv4、IPv6、マルチVRF、MPLS、およびキャリア・イーサネット機能、そして高度なレイヤ2 スイッチング機能を備え、クラウドに最適化されたネットワークを実現できるよう設計されています。
ブロケードの第6世代アーキテクチャとテラビット・スケールのスイッチ・ファブリックで構成されるBrocade MLXシリーズには、世界中に導入された9000を超えるルータにより実証された伝統が受け継がれています。インターネット・サービス・プロバイダ（ISP）、トランジット・ネットワーク、コンテンツ配信ネットワーク（CDN）、ホスティング・プロバイダ、およびInternet Exchange Point （IXP）は、これらのルータによって 、とどまるところを知らないトラフィック要件を満たし、ビットあたりのコストを削減することができます。Brocade MLXシリーズを活用することにより、ミッション・クリティカルなデータセンターは、より多くのトラフィックをサポートし、より大きな仮想化を実現と、より小さなインフラを使用してクラウド・サービスを提供できます。その結果、運用が簡素化され、コストが削減されます。さらに、Brocade MLXシリーズは、コアおよびアグリゲーション・レイヤの統合と、MPLS/VPLSを使用したサイト間接続の提供によって、大規模なキャンパス・ネットワークの複雑さを緩和することができます。
Brocade MLXシリーズには、最大7.68 Tbpsのルーティング容量を備えた既存のBrocade MLXルータと、最大15.36 Tbpsのルーティング容量を備えた新しいBrocade MLXeルータがあります。この新しいルータは、48億ppsという驚異のルーティング性能と、データセンターの効率を高める後部排気機構をすべてのシャーシ・タイプで備えています。どちらのモデルにも4、8、16、および32スロットのシャーシがあり、1つのシステムで最大256ポートの10 GbE、1536ポートの1 GbE、64ポートのOC-192、256ポートのOC-48が使用できます。
新しい2ポートの100 GbEモジュールは、Brocade MLXeにおける両ポートのワイヤ・スピード接続と、コスト削減可能なポート・オンデマンド機能を使用した、Brocade MLX Routerにおける1ポートのワイヤ・スピード接続を提供し、業界初のマルチテラビット・トランクを可能にします。Brocade MLXモジュールおよびBrocade NetIron XMRモジュールは、新しいBrocade MLXeモデルのシャーシでも使用でき、ネットワークの投資を保護します。Brocade MLXシリーズのすべてのルータは、消費電力と放熱量がこのクラスでは最も少ないため、電力コストと冷却コストの削減に役立ちます。
無停止ネットワーク用に設計されているBrocade MLXシリーズは、マルチシャーシ・トランキング（MCT）機能を備えています。これは、30 Tbpsを超えるデュアル・シャーシ帯域幅、フルアクティブ/アクティブ・ルーティングリンク、およびノードフェイルオーバ時の中断のないトラフィックフローを実現します。十分な冗長性を備えたスイッチ・ファブリック、管理モジュール、電源、および冷却システムによって、高い耐障害性を実現できます。また、ネットワークとアプリケーションの可用性をさらに確実なものにするために、Brocade IronWareオペレーティング・システムは、ヒットレス・マネジメント・フェールオーバ機能とソフトウェア・アップグレード機能を備えています。
